I'm wondering if maybe one of my old protagonists here started a new handle to spread baseless accusations? Some have form and it's how this all started really. I can't remember ever commenting on the subject but I doubt the important, larger vendor members are selling.
From memory Sofala (vendors) comprises a small group of shareholders, some founding members like Dr Alvin and some who did work for shares like a geophysicist I recognised. The way vends usually work is that all shareholders are distributed shares in the acquiring company like MRQ 'in specie', basically directly into each member's name proportional to their ownership in the vending company. What this means is that all the entities that owned Sofala shares will hold and make decisions on their own when or if to sell. There isn't really any single entity 'the vendor' which decides whether to sell, it's each to their own.
That said there are some major holders who drove the deal with MRQ and one in particular that works for them. I'd be very surprised if these major Sofala holders have sold, especially surprised if they hit the bid in big numbers and push the price down. There tends to be an unwritten agreement to look out for each other for a reasonable period of time. Dr Alvin works hard to make the project a success, major holders hold long enough to see if they can make it a success without smashing the price, and MRQ make sure to hit targets like an economic scoping study so vendors get their next 320M performance share issue. It's obvious the deal was structured so that both parties were motivated to look after each other and maximise each others potential return.
