If the independents get a better outcome for their electorates by siding with Labor then they have done their job. And if they get a better outcome for their electorate by siding with the Coalition they've done their job.
That's the job of an independent. The electorate don't see what's going on behind closed doors, it's the independents job to see through the smoke and mirrors and to make an educated decision.
Take the Coalitions costings, if it weren't for the independents the public would have been none the wiser. The independents are doing their job well right now.
