Now I see origin energy is a 51% stake holder in Contact energy which part owns the oakey power station, Origin is building a gas power station in QLD.
So would it be possible that contact takeover ICN and sell gas to origin?
Contact Energy Limited was listed on the New Zealand and Australian Stock Exchanges on 11 May 1999. Contact has since delisted from the Australian Stock Exchange, but is still listed on the New Zealand Stock Exchange.
There are 576,633,982 ordinary shares on issue. Origin Energy, through its subsidiary companies, holds 296,153,144 ordinary shares. This represents 51.4 percent of the voting shares.
Retail and institutional investors own the rest of Contact’s shares. Contact currently has around 84,000 shareholders.
