I think this could go either way. If Cardiocel gets approved internationally, the share price will go up, there's no question of that. If they find a cure for herpes, the sky is the limit. I've done some research and the percentage of people infected in the world is enormous. A vaccine for that would be a huge money spinner.
But...
If Cardiocel is not approved for a scientific or political reason (are European firms working on something similar?), the SP will bomb.
Similarly, having done some research on medical trials in general and herpes vaccine trials in particular, the success rate is very small. Given all who have tried and failed before, I expect that the result of the Phase 1 trial will be inconclusive at best or outright failure at worst. This isn't to say that they won't crack it eventually, but I suspect the SP will drop when the results are announced.
My plan is to hold in the hope/expectation that Cardiocel gets European approval and wait until the phase 1 trial results are about to released in the hope that expectation builds the SP. However, I intend to sell before the announcement. That should lock in a good profit.
If, however, the Phase 1 trials are positive, I will buy back in regardless of the cost because a cure would be a multi-billion $ proposition.
