Bernie3 it is a bit scary - as you said, who reads the fine print when opening these accounts. Someone could have been very diligent with their holding, making sure they avoided margin calls etc. Who would ever guess you could lose all your shares/money by the broker going bust... Lots of different views out their...and it really can only be one way..either FAS is down big time on their shareholding....or they have picked up a truck load. With the tight credit market, the latter seems less likely.
