In other words, plenty of empty rooms in Australia.

I can see the phenomenon in my street. There are more empty rooms than there are houses.

So why then are there all these people complaining that they can't find a place to live?

The unfortunately reality of our property ponzi scheme, is that on the one hand, you have the people with access to loans, who's goal it is to hoard as many properties as they can. Then, on the other hand, you have the people living pay check to pay check, who will never have a chance.

Same thing all around the globe. Furthermore, the dynamics are exactly the same as the 'inflation crisis' that we are facing today. Too much money chasing too few goods. Not that there isn't supply, but rather when there is, a few people hoard it, and then drip feed it out for a healthy profit.

That is capitalism.

It always gets taken to the extremes, which is we have boom and bust cycles.

Migrants will dry up, at the same time excess housing stock will be liquidated.

I don’t think migrants will dry up. Labor is encouraging migration to fill up jobs & we already have top breeder migrants with 5 kids mentally in this country. Give some time, they’ll breed like fibonacci rabbits
