You have put everyone into one basket and IMHO there are a great number who don't belong in that basket
Looking back to my first home I had a full time job an two part time jobs and socially --- What was that.
In today's world of "plenty" there are a lot of people who are simply incapable of a similar dedication to build wealth, they don't see the need or urgency or simply have the brains to do so
All societies have the haves and have nots and the have nots MUST be looked after by the haves.
You can't just say they should do better and push all into the same box, as a senior citizen I see the gradual dumbing down of the population where everyone demands that they have the right for the government to care for them as they have never seen wars or depressions (yet)
So it is a far more complex problem than to say just go out and get it.
