It wasnt a full merger only OST steel operations the rest of OST was to be renamed as what we now know as Arrium.You have to understand that the 2 steel operations would be fitted together and whyalla wasnt in the picture.Another problem was the steel distrubition business of both companys I think metaland was to be kept and metalcorp sold.But finding a potential buyer in this market was near impossible.Both companies steel operations put together would be a good thing ,the problem with both companies is the outdated,incompetent and arrogant management top to bottom.
