Alternatively ive seen when people place orders before market sometimes people then sell cheaper and if you order this way you can see in the pre market opening what price and you can acquire the stock and jump the queue of the others for the lower price.
So if you don't get that low entry offer you cancel your purchase order before opening. If you don't cancel you pay the full ask price?
there is likely a lot of other scenarios too
