for my 2 cents worth, and as previously advised, i have been, and am currently doing work in iran.. some of this is with government authorities..

whilst on face value the announcement looks horrific, i can say that i have personally faced this type of letter before and in some, not all, matters have been resolved even when it seems without a glimmer of hope.

i can say that the iranians often use this ruse with a hidden agenda and whilst i cannot of course guarantee that this will come out smelling of roses, i can say that there is at least a chance that it can be resolved in UCL's favour...

don't give up all hope just yet is my opinion... alternatively, you can jump overboard
