Home prices continued to increase in March, with an increase of 0.6 %, both for combined capitals and on a national basis.
There was also an acceleration for home price increase at + 1.6 % during Q1 24 vs + 1.4 % during Q4 23.
However, it is confirmed that it is now driven by the most affordable parts of the market :
- once again, units prices increased more than houses in each of the 5 capital city aggregate,
- combined regions prices increased by 1.8 % during the last quarter (vs + 1.5 % for combined capitals),
- prices are also driven by the lowest quartile in the capital cities : + 3.1 % during Q1 24 vs + 0.7 % for the highest quartile.
Also interesting to note that there is a clear acceleration of the market in term of the volume of transactions : almost + 10 % yoy during Q1 24, while the volume growth was quite limited during 2023.
