Where do you get this rubbish from? MNC finished flat today (not down 2.2%). Market fell 60 points (1.19%) and not 30.9 (0.6%). Yes it has also underperformed (historically) compared to the asx, but maybe that means that it could outperform to get back towards the mean? I hope you don't use this report to invest - it really is complete rubbish.
However, I do agree with your heading. It isn't starting contrary to popular opinion on HC. Did hold up well today considering miners got smashed.
