Hey Meleua, I don't personally fear death though I don't think anyone knows how they will feel about it untill faced with it. My point is generally, and I emphasize generally, people fear death or to put it another way are pro(their)life. I reckon this functions as a very strong motivator for individuals when faced with a potentially life threatening illness to get the best medical help they can afford. I think this consumer behaviour will continue to operate pretty much irrespective of world economic developments. Most people do plod along in a 9-5 job and don't think outside of the square. Thats the majority of the consumer market.
But I think you knew what I meant. You seem to enjoy a bit of a wind up and a crow over your trades. Most amusing. Meleua how do you explain ADO 'holding up ok' in the face of what some are calling potential financial armageddon (perhaps a bit extreme I know)?
ADO is appealing as an ethical investment. I understand that the current licensing and patent arrangements for some testing processes are very controlled resulting in only v. limited numbers of labs offering specific diagnostics(virtual monopolies) at expensive pricing(i guess based on the psychology that people will pay a lot to save their lives). With MixnGo the chances are very good that it will become an industry standard across the board and all consumers will be able to enjoy its benefits in terms of efficiency.
There will still be this situation where some pathology tests are only available from one or two labs and the cost to patients can be v high. Call me a socialist but to me that is a little unethical and exploits the instinct to survive/fear of death. I reckon it also reduces the amount of potential consumers. Four corners reported patients going O/S to get their testing done because it was cheaper all up to get it done O/S rathe than in a Aussie Lab. The bottom line for ADO though is that if MixnGo is standard it won't matter what labs the patients go to, the royalties will still be coming in.
It would be nice though if some of this potentially life saving testing was cheaper.
A couple of things I want to look into;
Is ADO targetting co's that are developing preventative or early early screening pathology tests cos there would be a greater potential volume of these sort of tests.
Is ADO courting Co's that operate in the asia pacific region and China. Surely this region will have good growth potential and will be more buffered from global economic crises than the USA and European markets.
