Trump's Executive Order (EO 13848) was issued on 12 Sept 2018 - imposing certain sanctions in the event of foreign interference in United States elections.
Interestingly EO 13848 was issued 7 weeks prior to the Mid Term election on 6 Nov 2018 and it covers the Presidential election on 3 Nov 2020.
What if information gathering commenced prior to the Mid Term election and continued up to and beyond 3 Nov 2020. The DNI report was due 45 days after the election on 18 Dec, however the time frame has been extended to next week or prior to 6 Jan. It could make for interesting reading.
