@Dave R; the Coalition ensured the rolled gold version of the NBN [FTTH] was provided to people in areas such as Point Piper while also ensuring that places such as regional growth centres were forever weighed down by Malcolm Turnbull & Tony Abbott's third world tortoise band FTTN technology.
As for what Telstra's current genius is telling us, it sounds to me as though his message is really aimed at blame-shifting and increasing his own remuneration instead of actually fixing what's oh-so-wrong within his organisation.
As a long time Telstra subscriber I've just been through changing a mobile phone to a more modern handset and converting its 'contract plan' which Telstra unilaterally increased from $10 each month to $25 [in two steps] to a prepaid one. Easy stuff you'd think, well NO!
Several hours in Telstra shops and a month later and my Telstra Bill and Account are still WRONG! That after the prepaid was set up without a phone service and at the first fix charged more than a $100 for about 43Mb of data used by Telstra's own retail sales staff.
Mullen would do well to get his own house in order before shooting his mouth off.
