"UBS analyst Otto Rutten said fair value for a takeover of Equinox would be $C8.30 a share.
Mr Rutten said the chances of a competing bid were limited due to the financial constraints of potential bidders, Vale, Vedanta and Xstrata. Yet, he said, there was an 80 per cent chance Minmetals would raise the bid."
