It seem science deniers are confusing hysteria with hilarity.
This heading in the Nature article is crystal clear.
"Global warming preceded by increasing carbon dioxide concentrations during the last deglaciation"
Science deniers can be very easily confused so I will explain as briefly as I can.
This evidence from Antarctic Ice core records identifies increasing carbon dioxide concentration as coming before warming.
The editor's summary puts it this way...
"These observations, together with transient global climate model simulations, suggest that CO2 was a primary driver of global warming during the most recent deglaciation."
Past increases in atmospheric CO2 have been natural, caused by a variety of natural phenomena including regional metamorphism and ocean water overturning. The evidence presented in this paper shows that the latest of these natural increases in greenhouse gases came at the right time to cause a period of warming.
Human activity has produced the latest surge in atmospheric CO2. The evidence suggests we can now expect more warming, more deglaciation and more sea level rise.
The warming provides an additional store of thermal energy in the atmosphere. This energy drives the changing weather patterns we are now seeing; patterns predicted by AGW.
No wonder science deniers are hysterical.
