I think you are probably on the money. Right or wrong this has come about because the UN including most of Europe and other nations with no reliance on the US voted to create Israel over the protests of Arab nations. It was foolish and inevitable that conflict would occur. Egypt eventually honoured the ceasefire and Israel has left them alone c. What they didn’t do is leave alone a group of people who claimed a nation that didn’t cost for them any more than Israel existed for the Jews.
now both of them see it about survival. And can you blame them.
