"...but a key to speed is the weight of what you are pulling. Lithium is the 3rd element in the periodic table - only helium and hydrogen are lighter elements. So in totality is you are going to produce a battery it needs to be light - meaning higher density - whilst having good voltage and watt release to pull the vehicle weight. There is a reason lithium is used in batteries, in combination with other minerals, and weight is one, and the important other is potential for energy density per kg of battery material (as energy density contributes to a less weighter battery) in achieving speed etc."

    Hey @Scarpa
    This is really amazing!
I have to admit that I wasn't very good at chemistry at school, so I have to rely on the experts.
It's always important to know someone you trust.
One of my football friends teaches advanced chemistry and yesterday after the game (unfortunately lost 0:2) we met for a few beers.
I have already earlier asked him about the topic of lithium and also yesterday about sodium ion or other conceivable technologies.
He said you can never say never, but if you do, his window of opportunity is 10-20 years at the earliest....
When I read your contribution just now, it was like déjà vu!
His words on lithium were almost identical to yours!
By the way, he is invested in lithium and also in hydrogen ETF's and has registered the current drop in lithium prices but cannot understand it.
I told him about the various negative reports from GS, CS etc. and the subsequent short selling in the entire lithium sector.
He is not that deep in this topic, he is one of those who invest and then let it run....
But he is aware of the importance of lithium in battery quality and of supply and demand!
    His comment:
"It seems some of the "big boys" want to jump on the driving bandwagon with all their power..."
    Time will tell...
