…unfortunately the risk is to the upside for this war to escalate rather than de-escalate. For every greater pounding of Ukraine by Putin, the West contemplates ratching up the pain on Russia , that only serves to escalate the conflict. But we cant let Ukraine down although that risks a bigger war we don’t want, no good choices unless miracle happens that a coup toppled Putin but not a bet I’d make.
