Morrison trashed the Westminster system: Albanese

Anthony Albanese has accused Scott Morrison of showing contempt for democratic processes and trashing the Westminster system of government by secretly swearing himself in as health, finance, resources minister while prime minister.
Under questioning from reporters, Albanese said he’d he’ll await advice about whether it had broken any laws but didn’t want to pre-empt anything.
The PM labelled the revelations a “shambles” and said Australians deserved better “than this contempt for democratic processes and for our Westminster system of government, which is what we’ve seen trashed by the Morison government”.
“My government will operate in an orderly and transparent way. Not like the former government. Not like the former government Australians deserve better than what we’ve seen revealed over the past few days,” Albanese said.
He labelled it a centralisation of power by the former prime minister and Morrison deserved to be held accountable for his decisions as well as the actions of other members of his then government.
“It’s not clear to me or indeed to anyone, at this point in time, how many other portfolios Scott Morrison was sworn into.
“But what’s very clear is that this was a sign of no confidence by Scott Morrison in the Morison government ... because he didn’t allow ministers do their job.”
