    Just listen to the arguments…

if one has sought to cheat but did not end up doing the cheat does not absolve the person who purports to cheat, as if one had resorted to hire a contract killer but did not proceed with the killing similarly does not absolve the person of crime.

the fact that the ex PM undermined his cabinet and ministers in stealth despite not exercising any powers bar one case does not absolve him from a wrongdoing.

if this was done by a different party, you would hear no end to it. It is unconscionable regardless of which party. If we can accept his explanation , it would set a new precedent for future Govts and PMs to do things without public knowledge on grounds of emergency and public interests. Which is precisely what I had previously said that this so called public interest narrative had been carried too far. The PM is a leader answerable to the people , not a dictator who chose to control and sidestep his ministers to fit his own agenda.

the point missing by most is not that the powers were not exercised, they were made available in case it needed to be exercised , so control can be established by a single individual.
