...an even better approach I would have thought is to temporarily limit or cap the transfer of funds from bank deposits to money market/Treasury until semblance of calm returns.

RBA minutes flag rate pause as consideration

The Reserve Bank has fuelled the anticipation of interest rate doves betting on an interest rate pause in April by suggesting it will consider the case for a pause next month as this would allow it more time to assess the economy’s outlook.
The crucial passage in the minutes of the RBA’s March meeting on monetary policy reveals. “Members agreed to reconsider the case for a pause at the following meeting, recognising that pausing would allow additional time to reassess the outlook for the economy. At what point it will be appropriate to pause will be determined by the data and the Board’s assessment of the outlook,” the board said.
