Not quite true, as this thread has indicated ever so often that commodity stocks are not commodity, AGL is still down -59pc after 5 years, Origin is +14pc in 5 years., before the crash. Company specific risks matters more than what the commodity price fetch. In any case, oil price cant go too high before bringing about a recession. And if it goes too high humanity will find an alternative to phase it out and double down on clean energy initiative
