30 months ago, household stock ownership hit all-time highs (12/20), and returns for the average S&P and Tech stock are "NOT IMPRESSIVE!!!"

Now, stock ownership is at even higher levels. How will the average buy-and-hold stock fare in the next thirty months?

Asking for a friend...why will it be different this time?

What caught my eye was the 29.5% high of 1969 which is comparable to the highs of 2000 (30.9%) and 2007 (26.2%), all bull tops just before fast, severe declines.
Also the 13-yr long decline from '69 to a 73-yr low of only 8.4% (!) in '82. Inflation was sometimes higher & sometimes lower, but always there. Economic growth was sometimes better & sometimes worse. Precious metals & oil stocks did well & probably other segments
