...a MYTH! In fact, his actions suggest that he is recognising a TOP/PEAK given his LT investing approach... in other words a possible PEAK for sometime yet to come.
..if you think the market is going to peak and stay lower for another 5 years, wouldn't you want to sell first and buy later?* For many stocks, the current peak valuations may never be revisited, possibly ever, even if/when the market resumes another bull cycle. Because their corporate fundamentals could be so severely impacted that those lofty valuations could never be justified anymore.
* you won't perhaps you don't have an idea of Where We're At, Buffett certainly does.
..if things get so bad, consumers may not want to replace their Apple mobiles anymore, they can continue with their older Apple iphone versions, and save the thousand over dollars for basic necessities.
