2022, thermal coal was $400 per tonne and met coal was $630 per tonne, WHC peaked at $11 and YAL $7
2024 (now), thermal coal is $145 per tonne and met coal is $200 per tonne, WHC is now $7.30 and YAL $6
WHC have paid $1.29 and YAL $2.63 in dividends since 2022, plus the millions in buybacks
Dividend adjusted would have WHC at $8.59, and YAL $9.63 (excluding buybacks)
WHC also acquired BMA assets in that time. YAL have not acquired any mines (but are planning to now).
Let's see where the prices are in 2 years time as both companies aim to be majority met coal play.
