...Ukraine's loss is Putin's win and Putin's win is interpreted as dark winds of change for Western Europe. So NATO can't let that happen. NATO is already indirectly at war with Russia, a long protracted war.

...Pitting Russia against Ukraine is like Brazil soccer team playing against Japan. Japan soccer team is gutsy but does not have the might of the Brazilians. And we know Ukraine holds is because of NATO assistance with $$$ and weaponry to balance the war.

...Point is with a balanced protracted war, huge resources from EU and US are going into the pits, that only means deficits would never be mend, more money printing, higher and protracted inflation and resources going into the war at the expense of struggling families and the populace.

...Which is why everyone wants the war to end. But will it? If you see NATO's perspective, a win for Russia will embolden it to consider enlarging its territorial ambition to create the Soviet Union it once was. Maybe paranoia but can you blame the Europeans entirely?

...Donald Trump's approach to ending the war would probably be switching off the tap (funding and weaponry) to Ukraine...what would that do? EU will in response hasten their own defence build up and spending to close the gap. EU could get into a severe recession, never mind if the Donald cares.

...the war has wider ramifications for the global economy than we can truly appreciate. This EU support shows that Western Europe is unrelenting in its support for Ukraine, with or without the US. On that count, this protracted war will cost the world dearly in misallocation of resources (apart from dear lives).
