Incitec Pivot posted a net loss of $311 million in the 2024 financial year, down from $560 million in net profit the prior year, after it was forced to write down the value of two major plants.
EBIT for the explosives and fertilisers group was $580 million in 2024, down from $880 million in the prior corresponding period.
Chairman Greg Robinson called 2024 “a year of transition and change”.
“We have … finalised the sale of the Waggaman ammonia site, clearly stated our strategy to exit our fertilisers business and, finally, we progressed our $1.4 billion capital return to investors,” he said.
Incitec chief executive Mauro Neves has said he wants an explosives-only company by early 2026 and would restart the process of selling the fertiliser business.
