...he is coercing Denmark and the EU into peaceful submission with a dangling threat that he hopes could weaken the EU before he threatens them with a harsher tariff hike or a much lower NATO $$ commitment in the next stage should they not capitulate to his demand. When he could pay billions to acquire Greenland and make every Greenlander a US millionaire in a deal they refuse to take, the alternative could be zero dollars and an invasion no one can stop, that's how he would put out the options.
