It goes to show how delayed the reaction of the Dow is to the ugly 6.6m unemployment claims figures - when the number was disclosed Dow futures were still up 325pts , just slightly lower from 380pts higher moments before its release. And the markets were somewhat cheering at a possible prospect of a truce between Saudi and Russia which led to a 10% jump in crude price and to the energy sector that has been the main laggard of Dow thus far. However 10 minutes later, Dow future gains have almost all vanished with just 70 pts higher, it just shows the market struggles to determine if the bad news was expected or factored or not.
