Each trading day I track microcap tech performance and I can say that prices and sentiment has taken a dive in the last couple of weeks. Decision to reduce & exit was a good outcome to preserve returns and capital - had no position been closed, it would have been 4.55% worse off.
The 'waterfall' charts of many of yesteryear techs all look the same - YOJ/BUD/ZNO/CR8/DCC/3DP/9SP/FFG/CIO/OOK. The reason people made money off them in 2H last year was just down to exuberance. Failure to deliver to level that warrant their lofty mcap meant sp would need to adjust downwards to appropriately reflect reality, as their sp had moved ahead of their fundamentals despite recent falls. At the moment, what is preventing an even poorer outcome is long term holders holding on and not taking their losses - but the longer they wait, greater likelihood the bigger the deficit awaits.
My mantra- don't let your 'dogs' take the shine off your 'silver ware' stocks. And for some people who bought them real cheap, they have seen the stock hit the roof and did not sell so they won't now as they cannot rationalise selling now at zero profits or small loss when they could have gained 4-5x bagger then. The lazarus story is far and few. In most cases, the market simply had it wrong for these microcaps with outlandish expectations. Denial will cost you more at the end of the day.
