Am sure people have heard of the NIMBY syndrome. Not in My Backyard, so if the problem does not affect us or in a very limited way, we cannot see or rationalise on the necessity to stop Externalities (the virus is one). If someone dumps toxic waste or pollutants somewhere else, you'd be less up in arms than if it was dumped at your backyard.

So it is understandable people cannot appreciate the necessity for lockdowns, until the virus reaches your suburb.

Just as people only start to scramble to get vaccinated once we realise the Delta variant has arrived and case numbers are rising.

Just as the Fed Govt only realised their folly of a single vaccine point-of failure before embarking on a broader vaccine uptake.

Just as Gladys would eventually succumbed to harder lockdown measures when she could have done so at the outset.

And Just as market participants would sell in droves once they sense and see a market avalanche in motion , when they were told and when they also knew it was already on the cards and just a matter of time...

But why do we have to each time always Be So Behind the Curve?

As with COVID, when the virus was raging in Wuhan, Americans thought wrong that it was just a China virus, until it landed on their shores. Even then with a President in denial then, Americans continued to believe wrong that the virus is merely a flu.

It is called Denial, and Not wanting to Confront Reality and a Big dose of Poor Judgment and a Failure in Risk management.

    We Can Do Better !!
