While CPI inflation is at 3.4%, inflation is much higher in many basic necessities:
1. Car Insurance Inflation: 22.6%
2. Transportation Inflation: 11.2%
3. Hospital Services Inflation: 7.7%
4. Car Repair Inflation: 7.6%
5. Homeowner Inflation: 5.8%
6. Rent Inflation: 5.4%
7. Electricity Inflation: 5.1%
8. Food Away From Home Inflation: 4.1%
Keep in mind, inflation has been above 3% for over THREE years now. This means that these inflation numbers are building on multiple years of already inflated prices. Clearly, we are not ready for interest rate cuts. Affordability is still getting worse.

...Wall St/Big Businesses always win at the expense of everyday consumers. How else can you explain their record profits, and even if they suffer a lower growth, they're still making huge profits.
...the truth is no Govt would want to curb big business...least of all Trump and a Trump-like candidate.
...no one likes a socialist type Govt that would put a lid on price rises by intervening in the free market - but does free market work anymore? It doesn't, because we have a K economy - a K economy is one where one segment of society and business are doing well/very well while another in a terrible desperate shape.
...so don't rely or blame Govts, you can't win even with the Greens because they won't get the balance right and could kill the goose that lay the eggs.
