While Dow is breaking record after record, our market participants in ASX are seemingly nervous nellies - two days ago we had an irrational capitulation across WAAAX stocks and today it was across the gold sector.

WAAAX recovered strongly yesterday and somewhat today. Gold stocks have been sold down today way ahead of its counterparts overseas which have been more measured. Yes, measured. As an example, NST trading below $9 takes it back to mid May level when AUD Gold/oz was at 1850 but it is AUD2130 now. We are 15% higher than it was in May. Secondly, we forget that most of these producers hedge their position, or at least partial hedge.

Perhaps, people are trading it more these days. Remember what I said before, stocks will find their base for northward bound once volatility stops and volatility stops when people stop trading. IMO gold stocks are not for trading. Its easy to lose money . Sentiment can be right on the day, wrong the next...the bigger picture lies ahead.

As far as O&G is concerned, this is to be a long term position , one I had constructed to wade through even when the storm arrives.
