So where is it officially recorded that farmers are holding up this mine. The MLP was approved & RXM immediately changed their ideas - Mark Parry not required?, smaller start up, no IO, no low grade Cu, no pipeline, no port & no apparent plans. RXM are saying they can go ahead without the original required waivers or acquisitions in place. The mine can't go ahead until the PEPR is completed which is still 6 months away not allowing for any extensions which is very likely to happen. The road system also has to be completed before any operations take place.
Where is it recorded that the uranium issue is holding up this mine. It doesn't seem to be an issue with the DSD. It is dealt with in the 98 conditions just like all the other issues - as it should be. Why do you believe it is only a hand full of farmers concerned about this mine? There are 3 to 4 thousand people living within close proximity to the proposed mine. Many of them are very concerned. I guess it all looks pretty rosy from over the border. As for the faces of the farmers on TV - It appears that they would welcome as much media as they could get.
Do you believe a hand full of farmers could actually hold up this mine? Are you blaming them for the huge Olympic Dam expansion plans being deferred or jobs going @ Arrium's Peculiar Knob & Iron Knob or Carrapateena not going ahead or Honeymoon closing down. Let's get real - the timing is wrong (economically) & RXM board & management has been less than good.
