Its time for BHP to acquire Solgold plc.

BHP has been invested in Solgold for many years and has even organised a secondment arrangement for its technical staff at Solgold's major deposit, Cascabel. BHP have since built a major team in Quito however they have no advanced/producing assets in country. They have made major statements about the opportunity in Ecuador and I have no doubt they're interested to acquire Solgold.

Boasting the largest advanced copper project that is next of the shelf, and being Ecuador's largest concession holder, it would be a very wise move for BHP to gobble up Solgold before the Chinese do through Jiangxi (5% holders).

My bet is that BHP has concluded its own inhouse BFS and they are waiting for conclusion of ESIA and IPA which are both imminent (quasi overdue).

Exciting times for Ecuador and copper
