Doctorwho, ARD's existing silver resource was not a large deciding factor in my decision to take a position in ARD,it's good that they have it but my primary interest is that they have returned to the "explorer" space in the market(a space of sizzle with potential for large rerating on success)with a focus on base metal VMS deposits.It's the zinc,lead and potentially copper and gold which is more interest to me.Zinc is one of the few metals likely to be in short supply over the coming few years as existing mines like Century reach the end of their life.
The added advantage as I see it,is that this part of the Lachlan Orogen is know for a number of VMS deposits so the chance of a commercially viable discovery is IMO higher than in many other areas of the country.Furthermore the existing infrastructure in the area and potential workforce with a background in mining is a huge plus in my book.I eagerly await an announcement as to a start of drilling.I think management along with their well credentialed consultant Professor Ross Large have spend a lot of hours carefully planning this drill campaign.
