    The problem I have with these constant NG arguments is that NG is NOT the problem the treatment of CGT is. Return CGT to the old indexation method and that will have far more of an effect over time on speculation.

    The only fair way to remove NG is to overhaul the ENTIRE tax system with either a lower flat tax with no deductions or even fairer tax everything based on a higher GST with no income tax at all. The second option would encourage saving - but at the end of the day people will only save for so long and will eventually spend all or some of the money and be taxed. I don't hold my breath on either of these happening anytime soon as politicians of all sides do nothing but tinker with the system making it ever more complicated and burdensome on the community/business at large.
