"Members of the Australian Senate, 2008 - 2011

    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is a list of members of the Australian Senate between 1 July 2008 and 30 June 2011. This includes senators elected at the 2004 federal election (whose terms are 2005-2011), and those elected at the 2007 federal election (whose terms are 2008-2014).

The Coalition holds 37 seats, Labor 32 seats, Greens five seats, Family First one seat, and one independent, Nick Xenophon.

Assuming party discipline, the Gillard Labor government needs the support of either the Coalition, or of all the other non-Coalition senators to pass legislation.

Under Australian Senate rules, tied votes are resolved in the negative."

    My comment:

It's time to deny Supply to Labor imo in the National interest and so the betrayed voters in those two Independents' electorates can have their say ASAP at the election ballot and let them know what they thought of their decision to put into power a Labor Government that won less seats than the Coalition, less primary votes than the Coalition, less two party preferred votes than the Coalition and was smashed by the Coalition in their electorates.

When Windsor said that if an election was held now he believed the Coalition would win, what a snub to his electorate and the Australian people to then go and give his support to the formation of a Labor Government.

Who on Earth does he think he is?
