Ivanhoe DD period & 30 day VWAP

Been quite a bit of misinformation, unfounded scaremongering and approximations made regarding the Ivanhoe deals, timelines and what it has and will do to the sp so I thought I'd dedicate a thread discuss the deals specifically.

After reviewing the anns once more and confirming with the company the 30 day VWAP prices are taken from REN (on JSE) ONLY.
I was mistaken initially by thinking the prices were taken from the ASX but now that its been confirmed I will refer to REN charts and stats only when referencing VWAP for Ivanhoe, although I will give some equivalent prices in AUD for reference.

Below are the highlights from the ann released 15th Mar 2022

Ivanhoe took an initial placement of 5,631,787 shares at R35.625
This was at a discount of 5% to the 30 day VWAP that finished on the 10th Mar 2022.

Now lets look at the key dates surrounding the deals

28th Jan 2022 - 30 day VWAP period begins for initial subscription (US$13.3M)
10th Mar 2022 - 30 day VWAP period end for initial subscription
15th Mar 2022 - 120 day DD period begins for second subscription (up to US$250M)
31st May 2022 - 30 day VWAP period begins for second subscription
16th Jun 2022 - Youth Day - JSE closed so not included in 30 day VWAP period
*12th Jul 2022 - 30 day VWAP period end for second subscription
*Caveat is Ivanhoe must complete entire 120 day DD as planned

Now that we can see all key dates lets look at how they have effected trading on REN since that initial engagement.

Ivanhoe's 30 day VWAP for the initial subscription began at the end of Jan 2022.
The first day of that period REN traded as low as 3378
The close at the end the VWAP period was 3798 (up over 12% from the initial lows)
* Note the discounted subscription price was still well above the initial lows of that period.
POC (most traded price) was around 3740

Here's where it gets interesting
On 15th March 2022 Ivanhoe began the 120 day DD period
The sp traded as low as 3680 and closed at 3719.
The POC is right at the top of the range (around 4285) during this time and this price has been dominated by aggressive buyers.
Volumes are showing a complete lack of supply at lower levels with bigger buyers willing to 'pay up' when any supply is on offer.
Certainly not the 'huge sell off' and 'blatant manipulation' some holders were sprouting.

I've marked the 30 day VWAP period for second subscription (up to US$250M) with a range outlined by the vertical broken white lines - starting 31st May 2022.
It's clear that volume has certainly stepped up since this period began and so far has been climbing along with the sp.

Within this range I've highlighted the VWAP for this period with the blue line.
The current VWAP for this period is 3917
This is the equivalent of just over AUD$3.50 but has been steadily climbing to date
