I'm with you Risky. My first purchase was in Nov 2015 and (before
@LowryMike jumps in screaming) I paid 35c. I put a couple of thou in, watched it dive, was too stubborn to take a loss, all the common mistakes of investing.
But Bader took over, I was studying my MBA and learning to properly assess stocks, so I analysed RNT on where it was and where it could get to. IMO Bader has always had a good clear plan to profitability, it always sounded reasonable, yes it took ages, but that has nearly come to fruition now.
So I averaged down heavily when it was in the 4-5c range. I know you shouldn't throw more money at a bad investment, but it was always a picture of what this can become. (Big respect for
@Jayze87 call above, that is me for sure!)
For me the equation became this simple - the ASX is full of 2-5c stocks doing nothing but punching holes in the ground looking for gold, lithium, graphite, whatever, doing CRs and burning money (No disrespect, I have played those too).
BUT a 5c share that suddenly announces it is a profitable business has to (HAS TO!) suddenly be worth multiples more in the eyes of the market - 20c, 40c, $1, whatever.
The Slattery investment is a bolt from heaven, those of us already invested were just lucky to be on the spot, but then I guess my philosophy above had me invested for the same reason.
Good luck to all. I still think there will be ups and downs, but with the likes of REA being $155 and CAR at $21, RNT could be $1-$5 without any trouble in the world.
