    I can guess you did not have an easy life, but who has from that generation...

    Many had a lot worse than me and whilst one can never know what could have happened if one was to be living back in Europe, I am grateful in hindsight of living here though over time this country has changed a lot and in many ways for the worse but perhaps Europe is not so different in that. Though via circumstances, can't help but feel that a so called normal childhood was more or less taken - but on another level, what is normal anyhow, when looking at countries currently in conflict - children being killed and other atrocities. But enough of that - nothing one here can do about events overseas except to view horrors others inflict and perhaps to air viewpoints.

    Can't imagine how a person being nearly blind most of their life would feel upon regaining their sight - perhaps jubilation and perhaps also anger at missing out on seeing all those years.
