@nugett, I realise you are being sarcastic, but your original query was indeterminate. In my defence, I have listened to a lot of great music in concert halls, both big and small, made music in-house etc. and you seemed to have posed a very simple query. So sorry if I misunderstood you.
I have also had a really good sound system in my home, originally a Swedish brand (B. & O.), still have the loudspeakers and managed to attach a simple and cheap 3-in-one unit to that once the B.& O. gave up the ghost and I no longer had a man around to 'fix' things; I have also managed to attach a single CD player to it - have wires dangling from the top of the unit, which annoy me no end . . . .
My next quest will be finding a good mike for my desk top computer so I can 'dictate' my next book directly onto the computer rather than type it out.
Good on you, that you are au fait with things technical.
