My theory is that the ASX got kicked into touch the moment that K Rudd introduced the Super Mining tax. It ruined Australia's reputation as a safe haven for capital. It burnt a lot of Aussie Mum and Dad's pockest and they have not returned. It was one of the worst and most naive things that Rudd did. He shot Austraia in the foot.

Add on a bit of market manipulation which still pervades the market and you have got a situation where numerous companies are selling well under valuation. And unfortunately it is going to take a lot of sorting out before it gets better. At least a new business proactive government will help.
