Yes or no is inadequate. Did they arrive at their hesitancy through a process of critical thinking? Yes. Did they arrive at their hesitancy though an impulse reaction to something they read which made them feel unsettled? No.
If you think that reading an article with a few facts and buying into what it says is critical thinking then you probably don't agree with me.
If you question something to the point of arriving at a position supported by deeper analysis then I think you deserve the accolade of critical thinker, but if you just parrot alternative views because you are critical of the mainstream view then you are just being indoctrinated by an alternative source.
