Hopper cite an FDA warning letter against ivermectin, which states "you should not use ivermectin to treat or prevent COVID-19." The article points out that ivermectin is on the World Health Organization’s “List of Essential Medicines” and that the Front Line Covid-19 Critical Care Alliance — a group of 10 doctors— says ivermectin is “one of the safest, low-cost, and widely available drugs in the history of medicine.” Ivermectin fights 21 viruses, including SARS-CoV-2, the cause of Covid-19. According to a June 2020 study, a single dose of ivermectin reduced the viral load of SARS-CoV-2 in cells by 99.8% in 24 hours and 99.98% in 48 hours.
