Randomized placebo controlled trials of IVM would be impossible and unethical as no one would agree to be randomly assigned to a placebo group for a potentially life threatening illness when doctors who treat thousands of covid patients keep their patients out of hospital with IVM and other treatments know that it works. We know that IVM reduces viral load - Reduced viral load leeds to recuced inflammitory damage. We know it is safe
I would like to see a trial with IVM / Remdezivir going head to head in a randomized double blind trial.
BUT who is going to pay for it? Drug companies cant make money from IVM so they would not fund it.
