Not sure what there is to lose by giving it a go. For properly dosed Ivermectin (as opposed to taking tablets for horses etc) the side effects as I understand them are possibly diarrhea, nausea and dizziness. If it does not work, then a few people may be slightly inconvenienced and no worse off than where they (and society in general) are now.
If it is effective even to a percentage of what some global results appear to show then surely that's a good thing. Like everyone else, I don't want to be locked down any longer than needed and if Ivermectin can prevent at least some of the impact on mortality rates and the health system then why not roll it out to doctors as an option rather than resist it as much as possible.
Ultimately there does need to be a treatment option for Covid as it is becoming clear that the vaccine approach is not quite working as it was intended, and also to account for people that for whatever reason are unable to be vaccinated.
