@R.C. I feel obliged to post this: a former H.C. poster is now on his 'last legs' healthwise - He won't mind me posting this, but no longer reads H.C. anyway.
He lives in a freezing-cold part of Australia and has been a smoker (and drinker) all his life. He is in his mid-sixties, but now can only breathe with the help of oxygen bottles. Spends most of his time in bed, asleep if possible - now also has skin problems (because of a shot liver) - and since I am an old friend, I listen to his litany of woes on a daily basis, it is hard listening.
He is also a chemist by profession (among many other things he tried) - so he should have known better.
I did purchase Ivermectin (from an Indian website) and thought of sending it to him - but he only laughed at me.
So: smoking does not cure anything, it makes you gasp for breath in your dying days . . . and wish you had never picked up that first cigarette . . .
Take care
